TextNow Pride hits the road

June is Pride Month, and we are ready to celebrate at TextNow! Our Pride at TextNow Employee Resource Group is heading to Detroit Motor City Pride and NYC Pride Festivals to give back to our community.  

  • Detroit Motor City Pride: Saturday & Sunday (June 11 & 12th)
  • NYC Pride Festival: Sun, June 26, 2022 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM EDT

If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello + chat with our team. We’ve also made our Pride 2022 t-shirt available for sale - you can purchase online and 100% of sale proceeds will be donated to Rainbow Railroad, a charitable organization that helps lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals escape violence and persecution in their home countries.

We’ve also made a commitment to education for our employees - for the rest of 2022 we will be hosting educational sessions on Labels, Terms, and Phrases + Pronouns + Actions employees can take for Allyship.  

Also, for our employees who are members of the LGBTQ+ community we are hosting a special “Affinity Space” for them to show up, share their story, ask for advice, and be themselves.  

TextNow values and understands the diverse perspectives individuals from the LGBTQ+ community contribute to make our product more inclusive and our culture more vibrant and collaborative. Since 2021, TextNow has been involved with organizations like OUT in Tech to grow representation of LGBTQ+ individuals on teams and we are excited to see representation growing for LGBTQ+ Textnovians from 12% in 2021 to 16% in 2022. Through continued events, outreach, education, and community impact our goal is to continue on the path to celebrating Pride 365!
